On Social Perspective: An anecdote of a child

“Mommy, my favorite Language teacher told me that she graduated Cum Laude in U.P. I think I want to be like her.” said my daughter when she came home from school. She was speaking in English. I noticed how her speaking skills improved this year. So I asked, “Anak bakit ganyan kang mag-English ngayon?Tagalog naman usapan natin sa bahay?” (How come you speak English well? We don’t converse in English at home.)

“I am imitating Ms. De Leon. This is how she speaks. I also want to be a cum laude like her.” said my daughter.

***We all have a tendency to emulate persons we admire. Their achievements inspire us to study harder so we may experience our own share of success.
